Wiki : Cardcaptor Sakura begins when ten-year-old fourth grader Sakura Kinomoto accidentally releases a set of magical cards called Clow Cards from the Clow Book, created and named after half-English, half-Chinese sorcerer Clow Reed. Each card has its own personality and characteristics and can assume alternate forms when activated. The guardian Beast of the Seal Cerberus emerges from the book and tells her it is now her responsibility to retrieve the missing cards. As she finds each card, she battles its magical personification and defeats it to seal it away. Cerberus acts as her guide, while her best friend Tomoyo Daidouji films her exploits and provides her with battle costumes. Sakura's older brother Toya Kinomoto watches over her, while pretending that he is unaware of what is going on.

A boy Sakura's age and descendant of Clow Reed, Syaoran Li, arrives from Hong Kong to recapture the cards himself, but finds his goal complicated as he comes to respect Sakura and begins aiding her instead. Once Sakura captures all the cards, she undergoes the Final Judgment, presided over by Yue, the cards' second guardian, who tests Sakura to determine if she is worthy of becoming the cards' true master. Yue is the true form of Yukito Tsukishiro, Sakura's crush and her brother's best friend. Sakura is aided by her teacher Kaho Mizuki, who was sent by Clow to ensure Sakura is able to pass the test, because he chose Sakura to be the cards' new master when he knew he was going to die. Sakura passes the test and becomes the new master of the Clow Cards.

(Sakura Kinomoto (木之本桜, Kinomoto Sakura?) is a fictional character, the heroine of Clamp's manga series Cardcaptor Sakura. In the English anime adaptation of the series, Cardcaptors, her name is changed to Sakura Avalon. She captures cards with Li Syaoran, by using her 'sealing wand' to store them and their magical powers into the 'clow cards'. Her outfit changes every episode always made by her rich friend Tomoyo (always an accessory for Kero too.) In the second season Master of the Clow,syaoran expresses his love for her, she returns these feelings in the second movie. For all Japanese-language productions of the anime including movies, audio CDs, and video games).

Life for Sakura is initially peaceful until a boy Sakura's age, Eriol Hiiragizawa, transfers from England, which coincides with new disturbances occurring in Tomoeda. Suddenly unable to use the Clow Cards, Sakura transforms her wand and creates a new activation spell, which can transform a Clow Card into a Sakura Card. As strange events continue, Sakura gradually transforms each card into a Sakura Card, unaware the events are being caused by Eriol and two guardian-like creatures, Spinel Sun and Ruby Moon. Yue begins to grow weaker, because he requires magical support from Sakura, but her magic is not yet strong enough to sustain him. Toya gives all of his magical abilities to Yue in order to ensure Yukito does not die. Sakura eventually deals with the pain of Yukito's gentle rejection of her feelings, as he instead loves Toya. Syaoran consoles Sakura, while finding himself falling in love with her, but is unsure of how to tell her.

I never got to see this title until I watched it in Japanese.

When only the Light and Dark Cards remain to be converted, which must be done together, Eriol reveals to Sakura he was behind all the strange events. After the cards are transformed, Eriol explains that he is half of the reincarnation of Clow Reed, with Sakura's father being the other half. Eriol, who has Clow's memories and magical abilities, aided Sakura in converting the cards so they would not lose their powers. Before returning to England, Eriol asks Sakura to split his magic between himself and her father, so that he will no longer be the most powerful magician in the world. Afterwards, Syaoran confesses his love to Sakura, but she is unsure how to respond. Sakura is hurt and upset when he tells her he is returning to Hong Kong, and comes to realize she loves him too after talking with her friends. She rushes to the airport to tell him and he promises to return when he has taken care of some things. One year later, Syaoran moves back to Tomoeda permanently.

Tomoyo Daidouji (大道寺知世, Daidōji Tomoyo?) is the best friend of the series' protagonist, Sakura Kinomoto, and her second cousin on their mothers' sides. The daughter of the president of Daidōji Toy Company, Sonomi Daidōji, Tomoyo lives a life of wealth and is watched over by a team of female bodyguards. She has access to a variety of prototype technological gadgets from her mother's company, and supplies Sakura and Cerberus with different communication devices throughout the series. She is depicted as being mature, kind-hearted, and intelligent, and regularly speaking using more formal verb conjugations and expressions than normally seen in elementary students. She is a talented singer, and is shown performing in various school events. In the anime, her musical ability causes her to be targeted by both the Voice and Song cards.

The plot of the anime series is extended, featuring 52 Clow Cards from the manga's original 19, and certain scenes are stretched and delayed, such as Cerberus' true form not being revealed until just before Yue's appearance.[1] Sakura creates a 53rd card, Hope, a talent she is not shown to have in the manga. Some of the circumstances around the capturing of the cards is changed, such as Syaoran capturing several cards himself and being tested by Yue in the Final Judgment. Syaoran's cousin and fiancee Meiling Li is introduced in the anime, who positions herself as a romantic rival for Sakura later in the series. The role of Sakura's father as the second half of Clow's reincarnation and the splitting of Eriol's magic is removed from the ending. The TV series leaves the relationship between Sakura and Syaoran unresolved, but Sakura confesses her love to Syaoran at the end of the second anime film.

Watch out Kinomoto

When she learns of Sakura's new role as a Cardcaptor, she insists that Sakura must wear "special clothes" and begins providing Sakura with the various costumes she wears during her captures as well as accompanying her on missions to record the events with her video camera. In the manga, some scenes give the appearance that Tomoyo has a crush on Sakura's brother Toya; however, according to an interview in the Cardcaptor Sakura Memorial Book, this was an error caused by one of the finishing artists not being aware that CLAMP intended for Tomoyo to have feelings for Sakura. In future volumes, this is corrected by having a scene note that Tomoyo blushed around Toya because he reminded her of Sakura.[2] While Tomoyo is in love with Sakura, she notes that she is happy to be able to be with Sakura and does not require Sakura to love her back. Instead, she encourages Sakura's love of Yukito, and later becomes Syaoran Li's confidante and ally when he falls in love with Sakura.

In the English adaptation Cardcaptors, Tomoyo's name is changed to Madison Taylor. The familiar relationship with Sakura is removed and all dialog suggesting that she has romantic feelings for Sakura are edited to be purely platonic in nature.

Mighty Keroberos

Cerberus (ケルベロス Keruberosu), nicknamed "Kero", is the appointed guardian of the book which holds the Clow Cards. He is one of two magical creatures created by Clow Reed along with the Clow Cards. Before his death, Clow appointed Kero as the one to select the potential candidate to be the next master of the cards, Cerberus himself, and his "brother" and fellow guardian, Yue. After Sakura accidentally releases the cards, Cerberus chooses her to be the candidate and teaches her the basics of capturing the cards. Throughout the series, he displays an extensive knowledge of mysticism. After Sakura passes the Final Judgment to become the Clow Cards master, Cerberus remains with her as a friend, companion, adviser, and protector when new threats appear.
Having spent a lengthy amount of time in the book while it was in Osaka, Cerberus speaks with a pointed Osakan-accent.He tends to be bossy, demanding, egotistical and gluttonous, but clearly displays his affection for Sakura, especially if she is hurt or in danger. He becomes very fond of video games, and is addicted to sweets.Cerberus spends most of his time in a "temporary" or "false form": a small figure resembling an orange stuffed animal with wings.Unlike Yue, Cerberus' magical powers are like the sun, and thus largely self-sustaining, and he is subsequently not as dependent on his master's power to support his life as is Yue. However, his master must have control of the Firey and Earthy cards in order to power his true form, a large-winged cat. In the anime adaptation, the Light card is changed to the Earthy card to delay his obtaining his true form.Cerberus' name is taken from the Greek mythological figure, Cerberus, a large three-headed beast who was assigned to guard the gates of Hades. In the bilingual Kodansha version of the manga, the name for Cerberus' borrowed form is Cero.
In the anime adaptation, his false form is voiced by Aya Hisakawa, while his hidden form is voiced by Masaya Onosaka. In the English release of the anime adaptation, his name is spelled Kerberos. In the English adaptation, Cardcaptors, it is changed to Keroberos. His false form is voiced by Matt Hill with a New York accent, and Richard Newman voices his true form, though the accent is not as distinct. In the second film, he is voiced by Wendee Lee and Dave Wittenberg, in his respective forms.

Syaoran and cousin/fiancee Meiling lei

Syaoran Li (李小狼 Ri Shaoran, Chinese Pinyin: Lǐ Xiǎoláng) is a distant relative of Clow Reed (on Clow's mother's side), the creator of the Clow Cards. As such, he believes that he should be the one to inherit the Clow Cards. He is initially Sakura's antagonist, trying to capture the cards for himself, and also finding himself competing with her for Yukito's affections. From the moment they first meet, Sakura's brother Toya appears to dislike Syaoran, which he later explains is because he had a vision long ago that Syaoran would "take something precious from [him]".
As the series progresses, Syaoran comes to respect Sakura and becomes her friend and ally. He eventually falls in love with her, though she is initially slow to realize it due to her own feelings for Yukito. In the anime, Syaoran's feelings became apparent at the beginning of the third season. In the manga, Syaoran begins to develop feelings for Sakura after she captured the Erase card. After Yukito rejects Sakura's feelings, Syaoran comforts her and Sakura slowly returns his feelings. Near the second half of the series, Syaoran confesses his feelings to Sakura, but she is not sure how to respond. With the issue of the cards settled, he decides to return to Hong Kong, and Sakura meets him at the airport. He gives her a teddy bear he made. He promises to return as soon as he can finish settling his affairs there and make arrangements to permanently relocate. At the end of the series, he returns from Hong Kong a few years later to reunite with Sakura.
In the anime adaptation, Syaoran manages to "collect" several cards by playing a major role in helping Sakura seal them. He is allowed to attempt the final judgment but fails. Sakura also does not return his feelings in the initial anime but does confess at the end of the second film. In Japanese media, Syaoran is voiced by Motoko Kumai. In the English Cardcaptor adaptation, he is renamed to Li Showron and he is introduced in the first episode, as the male lead. He is also called a "Cardcaptor", despite his not being chosen by Kero as such. Syaoran is voiced by Rhys Huber during the Clow Cards arc and the first movie, by Jordan Kilik in the Sakura Cards arc, and by Mona Marshall in the second movie.

I've seen the movies and the TV dub that came to america, but have never really sat down and watched the whole thing like I'm about to do. Later.

Vampire Princess Miyu (OVA) 1-4

Wiki : Its central characters are a vampire girl named Miyu and her demonic companion Larva. Miyu is the daughter of both a human and a shinma (demon) and as such she was awakened as the guardian whose destiny is to hunt down all stray shinma and send them back to the darkness.

Miyu was one of my first finds when I searched for anime on my own. I go back to a ton of anime back when I was a kid early 90's. There was anime around in mom and pop shops, but never was it complete or, let's face it much good. It was a serious piece compared to the ecchi pieces I would slog through. I took it serious after a few rentals.

Miyu is a little hottie that had her shiima blood awoken by a baddass enigma named Larva. Yeah he's a preety boy, but dammit if he ain't cool. The oversized cloak and mask are what I cheer about every time Miyu call him forth. An awesome familiar to be sure.

K-ON!

K-ON! Ann summary : It's Yui Hirasawa's first year in high school, and she's eagerly searching for a club to join. At the same time, Ritsu Tainaka, a drummer, and her friend Mio Akiyama, a bassist, are desperately trying to save the school's light music club, which is about to be disbanded due to lack of members. They manage to recruit Tsumugi Kotobuki to play the keyboard, meaning they only need one more member to get the club running again. Yui joins, thinking it will be an easy experience for her to play the castanets, the only instrument she knows. However, the other members think their new addition is actually a guitar prodigy...

KyoAni's anime K-ON

One of the coolest bass players this side of anime. She is one of 5 of the hottest selling MOE titles ever created. KyoAni, the people who brought us Haruhi, Munto and Sora no Woto created this powerhouse girl band and has been raking the cash in ever since. I didn't think it would last when it first came out, but fiercely supported it all the way. Who would have thought that a girl band anime would do so well. I'm still shocked by it's success.

All the girls are awesome. Here is Yui. Umm the main chara.

Yui is the main character of K-On!. She is one of the members of the light music club and plays a Heritage Cherry Sunburst Gibson Les Paul Standard electric guitar that she nicknames "Gīta" (ギー太?).She does not get good grades in school (though when properly coached, she can achieve astounding results) and is easily distracted by trivialities (mainly those deemed cute and adorable). Yui is clumsy and easily spaces out most of the time. Yui has shoulder-length, brown hair (a little longer than Ritsu's) which she accessorizes with two yellow hair clips, and brown eyes. She takes a huge liking for any kind of food (she practically never gains weight, which is greatly envied by Mugi, Mio, and Sawako). She has her younger sister Ui, who is the very mature and down-to-earth opposite of Yui, to take care of her and keep herself in line. Yui works extremely hard to get better at playing guitar, which is shown in later chapters.[volume & issue needed] During performances, Yui plays with amazing energy and joy, which usually results in great response from the audience.

Yui is the band's main vocalist and lead guitarist and has absolute pitch—she can tune her guitar perfectly without a tuner, which greatly impresses Azusa, who has played the guitar much longer than Yui. She has a very easy-going nature, but has incredible focus and retention when she has a clear goal in sight; unfortunately this is limited to only one subject at a time, and her other skills deteriorate quickly (for example, Yui is at one point pressed to make up failing test scores, and she quickly brings her math skills up to par while allowing her guitar skills to deteriorate.) Despite all of this, Yui is still devoted to her band and will always practice hard enough for the club. At school, she has become quite admired for her great voice. However, she is known to forget her lyrics in mid-performance as well as overdoing things, making her unable to perform sometimes. Mio was the lead vocalist at first, since Yui could not play the guitar and sing at the same time.Yui is also known to write childish lyrics as Ui has assisted her in creating them.

Azunyan is another part of HTT.

Ho-kago Tea Time

Azuza for short. She appeared in the end of the first season.

Wiki - Azusa is a student in the same year and class as Yui's sister Ui, who joins the light music club and becomes the rhythm guitarist, playing a Fender Mustang electric guitar. She eventually names her guitar Mu, as it is a Mustang. She is a self-proclaimed novice guitarist who has been playing the guitar since she was in the fourth grade, and her parents are working in a jazz band.She often finds herself bewildered by the tea parties and cosplaying aspects of the club, when she would rather just practice, and is curious about how the club is able to play so well despite their problems and lack of practice.However, she has a certain weakness for cakes and can be calmed down rather easily, sometimes by just being petted.She is constantly a victim of Yui's skinship and is nicknamed Azu-nyan after trying on a pair of cat ears and meowing ("nyan" being the equivalent of "meow" in the Japanese vocabulary).Despite this, Azusa is not too good with cats.Azusa has long black hair, which she wears in pigtails, and red eyes.

In the band, she looks up to Mio the most due to her maturity and the fact that she is an experienced bassist, even trying to give Mio chocolate on Valentine's Day.However, she sometimes unintentionally makes remarks concerning Mio's weaknesses, such as her weight. She also finds Mugi very beautiful, and envies her hair and large eyes, and later starts teaching her how to play guitar when the two are alone in the club room. Since joining, Yui comes to her for advice on playing guitar,as well as maintenance. She gets a tan extremely easily, once during their time at the beachand another during a music festival (even after applying sunscreen). As a result, she frequently gets sunburned as well. She gets lonely very easily, and often worries that everyone in the club will leave her, as they are one year older and eventually will graduate. Due to this, the rest of the girls buy her a turtle to look after, naming it Ton.Outside of the band, she often hangs out with Ui and Jun whenever the other girls are busy.When the others graduate, she becomes the new light music club president.

Mio is still my fave though.

In the end I really enjoyed the musical, despite being 2hrs long. heh. I got to finish the DVD's of Sailor moon season 1.

The escort-a-thon/ puzzle game. It had the main character tug the objective (princess Orda) around literaly by holding hands, and randomly destroy shadowy pursuers all while trying to solve inane puzzles without throwing your controller in anger. The graphics were unbelievable for the time (hey man, we are talking about the old blue cd games. you can't compare it with today's games)and don't really hold up compared to Shadow of the Colossus. I had a ton of other games to play at the time so I never really had to focus on more than just beating the game once. Though I had a ton of friends that went through the multiple difficulties unlocking the light saber and the special watermelon ending, which is cute as hell.

What a simply amazing game. The game seemed to be more of a for the fans, than a mainstream money maker. The games narrative only mentions something about the forbidden land, then you are free to roam. It doesn't take long to figure out what to do from there. The game was different from ICO but still had the atmosphere, level design and made up language. Much like the feeling you get when traveling into different games like Vagrant story, FF Tactics, Tactics advance and FF 12, there are many different styles of play through but it's all within the same universe of Ivalice. Ico and SOTC share that world whenever they took place from each other, The last Guardian is seeming to continue that tradition.

One thing I'm sure people didn't like about Shadow of the Colossus is that you are essentially alone in the game. Besides the bellowing colossus and the shrine where the voice of the statues lay, your only real objective is to follow the sunlight that gleams off your sword until you find another colossus.

The Last Guardian

I look forward to seeing these two in HD. It's a fantastic move for sony to make. The last guardian is going to be even more so.

Ico HD "Yorda demands it"

If Ico had the princess permanently bound to the castle, and Shadow of the Colossus had the Hero sacrifice his life for his resurrected love, than the last Guardian will have the tragic loss of either the boy or the griffin. It's what this division of Sony is good at.

I'm six chapters in and loving every minute of it. I'm sorry I missed out, when the game came out.

Well my old roommate played it day and night when it came out. I walked by and said "yeah I'll play it eventually. Well that eventually is now.

The game stars a dull looking space knight named Isaac. Isaac is going through the USG Ishimura, trying to locate the crew and solve the alien threat. For one the graphics are awesome. EA got a budget for this. It fucking shows. When the asteroid shower hit, I just stood there and got killed a few times.

The story behind Dead Space takes place hundreds of years in the future, during a time when mankind has exhausted all of the natural resources on Earth. Fortunately, in this dire time, humanity has mastered space travel, and a process known as planet cracking has been developed to combat this drought. A celestial body is split into pieces, and its minerals are strip-mined and melted, returning the byproducts to Earth for consumption. An entire fleet of ships sails the stars performing these tasks, and the crown jewel of this mining fleet is the USG Ishimura, which has performed more planet cracks that any other vessel. However, on a routine mission, the ship cuts off all communication from galactic command, which is somewhat strange. To discover what's going on, a small maintenance crew is quickly dispatched to the Ishimura from a nearby vessel

Players step into the boots of Isaac Clarke, a systems engineer that's part of the dispatched maintenance crew. Outside of fixing the communications issues, Isaac has a number of reasons for arriving on the Ishimura -- he has a number of friends that are stationed on the ship, including someone very special to him that sends an urgent holovid with a few cryptic messages before she disappears. Unfortunately for Isaac and his crew, shortly after they arrive on board the crippled vessel, all hell breaks loose. Their craft is destroyed, leaving them stranded on the Ishimura. The crew is attacked by nightmarish creatures known as Necromorphs, who kill most of Isaac's team and separate him from the surviving members. Even worse, the ship and its systems have started to be corrupted or are failing thanks to the Necromorphic infestation. It's up to Isaac to wander the halls, search for any friends or survivors that are still alive, and fix as many problems as he can until he can find a way to escape the ship, which can take you 12 or more hours to complete.

Isaac isn't the typical hero that you'd find in most sci-fi games; he doesn't walk into the Ishimura packing a firearm or grenades, nor does he have specialized training. Apart from the first one that Isaac finds on a workbench, all of Isaac's weaponry and items are found via schematics that are scattered across the ship. Only one of them is a true firearm -- the security pulse rifle; the rest of his "guns" are repurposed pieces of mining equipment used for planet cracking. However, Isaac can use his engineering knowledge to make these weapons much more powerful by analyzing their blueprints and rewiring them at workbenches with the use of power nodes. Thanks to these nodes, Isaac can improve their performance in a number of ways, such as carrying more rounds, shortening his reload time, or increasing their damage. This upgrade system even expands to Isaac's space suit, which can be improved to strengthen his suit's armor or his air supply in case he enters a vacuum. He can even use the nodes to augment the stasis or kinesis modules, which can be used to freeze monsters as they charge him or propel items into the creatures, respectively. What's creative about this system is that players won't be able to max out every weapon or every bit of gear that they have in one playthrough; this forces them to choose what they'll specialize in as they go through the ship.

Ch 6 Currently the boss I'm stuck on right now

This is an important decision to make, particularly because some weapons are more effective against the Necromorphs than others, and since you'll need to use strategic dismemberment to weaken and effectively kill them, the right weapon in the right situation can be the fine line between life or death in the game. See, unlike monsters in other games, Necromorphs will shrug off direct attacks to the head or chest and keep coming for more. Blasting their limbs off is the only way to cause enough damage to kill these beasts, and you'll frequently need to focus on aiming accurately and quickly at these weak spots before you're surrounded and dissected yourself. This is particularly true in later stages, when some of the Necromorphs start moving faster than before, and it frequently turns battles into brutal affairs, with severed arms and legs flying everywhere as you attempt to survive the onslaught of creatures. Thanks to the over-the-shoulder, third-person perspective, this can add an extra level of tension to the game while you're fending off swarms of beasts, but be forewarned: there is no quick turnaround command. While some people may consider this to be a problem, this is actually a wise design decision because it makes you feel much more vulnerable and claustrophobic within the confines of the suit, and whether you're moving through a hallway covered in bodies or floating in a zero gravity environment, you always feel as though something could reach out and kill you at any time.

It's a great game so far. I hope I can finish it before the Rogers get back.

ANN's Plot Summary: Lamune tells the story of a boy named Kenji and his childhood friend Nanami. Although, everyone seems to know that they have a relationship, neither are determined to push it anymore than close friends. The story goes through flashbacks, explaining why they are such close friends and any action doesn't seem to push them apart, but draw them closer.

So far just from the intro I see that it's a harem. Made popular by Pioneer's Tenchi Muyo. Kenji looks like he shares a ton in common with the main chara Kenichi from Ah my Goddess as well. Here is hoping he is a mute douche.

The OP has also told me that it's a lot like the Harem feelings like in Ranma 1/2. One chara surrounded girls that are jealous that the worst of them is the one he grows closer to. Also whenever someone notices them get too close, they will jump back, as if we all didn't know whole damn story long before anything was even implied.

Oh, hold on, wait a minute.

It's opens with two young kids on a beach and they are messing with softshell crab. FF to the future.

Kenji has one more exam until summer vacation. He slyly jumps next door (because some one built two houses too damn close to eachother.) to find the Nanami has fallen between the bed and the wall. "I can see your panties" Nine minutes in Nanami is pantless. Oh she's also a fucking retard with zero intelligence in her eyes. She is also easily impressed. Kenji leaves. Suddenly Nanami's mom walks in, same candy colored hair and all that good stuff. Look's like her only job is being a MILF. Well done mom. It' then brings us to Nanami putting on her sailor schollgirl uni. We are treated to an animator showing how a girl puts on some socks. Yeah, real Miyazaki pal. Wait, they keep doing it. Nanami closes a desk, Kenji (that is waiting for her is exercising? ) Nanami says "Hi" , then turns around, digs into her pocket and locks the door.

She then some how looks at her mom, while her mom is sitting in the ketichen and she's halfway down the street. Odd? Not in the anime relm, noob.

Running full sprint hand in hand the two stop by the beach from the OP. Nanami decides to take off her 2nd dress in order to retie the ribbon. What ever keeps us from going to school right? Mid dress pull, Kenji decides to go tickle monster on the well occupied Nanami, to my surprise she steps back from it.

The two finally get to school and they are greeted by some tracksuit wearing bitch named Tae. Cleaning lady Tae. She's like 15 but who cares, right? Lady? Anyway. Class is over and the Hatano walks over to Kenji, "how was the test" "Hope I don't have to go to summer school". Urrrgh Slice of life..............

Suddenly "squeezed helium" comes for Kenji.The two walk home and Kenji is hungry, aparently MILF and Nanami own a restaurant. So the two go home, get changed, and head on over to the restaurant (yeah they made it a point to make sure I was aware that they did that.) In the resturaunt.... nothing happens again .A flashback shows us that Kenji gets smoked by a 1994 Nissan while walking back with some water eggplant for the restaurant. So MILFy gets some idea to loan Kenji and Nanami a "Wagon" (old school) On their way out the do the couple thing where Nanami was in such a rush to leave she forgot her (accessory) Sunhat. Nanami blushing tells me shes easily impressed again or MILFy's daughter is autistic.

Paradice

The two (wagonless) chara go down to the super garden to do nothing it seems. Come to find out that Nanami has a special watermelon patch that she has raised.So many things wrong with that. Kenji ends up calling her a kid and eats her special watermelon. Nanami just whines. It's late and Kenji tells Nanami to wake him up this time. Focus on Veggie basket and that's the end of EP 1

This is definitely a slice of life series. It's also mixed with the style I hate, but it's getting better. At this point I just can't wait to see more of the Girls.

It's the start of what promises to be a long, hot, boring summer. Math nerd Kenji Koiso is settling into his part-time job as a low-level moderator in OZ, the massive, all-encompasing social networking virtual world that has become the preferred conduit for pretty much all online activity. Those plans come to an abrupt halt when the school hottie Natsuki pokes her head in the door. "Who wants a summer job?" she asks.

The job, at first, seems to be a personal assistant position. Natsuki and the rest of her massive extended family are all making a pilgrimage to their gigantic family estate in Nagano to celebrate the 90th birthday of their grand matriarch (and Natsuki's great grandmother) Sakae Jinnouchi. The Jinnouchi clan is very proud and very old fashioned; they come from samurai lineage, and had a hand in seemingly every major battle in Japan's history (though not always on the winning side). A long decesed relative blew the family fortune years ago, but Great-Grandma Sakae maintains incredible connections in government and commerce. And so why did Natsuki bring Kenji all this way? To satisfy her committment to Great-Grandma Sakae to bring home a future husband. Kenji, being a dateless loser with a serious self-esteem problem, tries his best to play along, but being trapped in a house with a large chaotic family of strangers is stressful at best.

His first sleepless night at the house he gets a mysterious message from a stranger on OZ. It's a math puzzle. With the sleeplessness and concentration of a true nerd, he solves it. Little does he know, that "problem" was the cryptography of OZ's user security protocol. The next morning the family is awakened to news reports that Kenji has basically brought down the internet and brought chaos to the world. With Kenji's avatar, an unknown force (known as "Love Machine") begins taking over the accounts of other users, gathering more and more power and turning the entire social network into a giant army of computing horsepower ready to do his bidding: a botnet, more or less. With no clear agenda, it ends up taking over the rest of the internet as well. Little does anyone know, the Jinnouchi clan has far more to do with this act of cyber-terrorism than even Kenji. It's up to Great Grandma Jinnouchi, her ancient rotery dial phone, her incredible fighting spirit, and even her next of kin to save the world.For as long as anyone can remember, the big summer movie has been a Hollywood tradition. Summer movies are loud, adventurous, unchallenging: a film that can be enjoyed, hypothetically, by anybody. More often than not, this type of film can be boiled down to a pretty common plotline: the hero pines after a girl, but is ultimately distracted by having to act heroically in the face of some giant cataclysm, the fate of millions at stake. We see these movies purely for entertainment value. We already know these characters, and know how the story will end, more or less.

Summer Wars is one of these summer movies in a literal sense. On the surface, it follows all the rules. It's entertaining as hell. We love the protagonist, Kenji, as he gets thrust into a ridiculous situation with the hottest girl in school. We grin in recognition at her silly, dysfucntional family, and grit our teeth in anticipation of his eventual triumph. And if that's as far as we want to go, that's perfectly okay. The film has delivered. It's thrilling, funny, affable, enjoyable. It fulfills our expectations of the genre, and looks great doing it. By this measure, sheer entertainment value, it's the best anime to come along since Cowboy Bebop back in the mid 90s. But that's not all there is, not by a longshot. Summer Wars is practically overflowing with sharp social insight in a way we have not seen from anime in years. Hosoda's perspective is that of a distinctly younger generation than we're used to. He's keenly aware of the role social networking and the always-on internet now plays in our lives, and feels no need cast judgement on that: it's simply how people live in today's day and age. The characters in the extended Jinnouchi family that stay oblivious to it are the ones who ultimately do nothing and don't matter in the end. They willingly ignore the action, and consequently are oblivious to it.

This isn't to say the film criticizes the old. Indeed Great Grandma Sakae is arguably the most powerful character in the film, and she doesn't even have a touch tone phone. But the source of her power is that she is still connected, even if it's by antiquated means. Her network of friends and acquaintences spreads far and wide, and she knows how to use it when she needs to. For all of her meddling and high ideals, the woman isn't trying to hold anyone to an unrealistic standard: she's simply trying to get everyone to contribute and do their best to contribute according to their ability. The family members, largely successful (though often working class), seem to bear this out. Despite their sometimes amusing dysfunction and widely divergent lives and interests, they're all good people who work hard and try to do the right thing. One character that's relatively common in the real world but fairly unique in movies is Kazuma, the shut-in 13-year-old who has as little to do with the rest of the family as possible. Kazuma spends most of his time in OZ, where he's a superstar in the online fighting circuit online known as King Kazuma. His high level account and his quick reflexes serve in good stead when the Love Machine takes over, and soon it's Kazuma and Kenji against the biggest, most destructive botnet in history. GPS fails. Traffic systems fall off the grid. At Great Grandma Sakae's insistence, the family pulls together to help.

The rest of the family's contributions to the ad-hoc team of freedom fighters is a little less predictable. One is able to contribute a Cray supercomputer, while another can contribute ice. Then there's a large military boat. And the kids, always under-foot, contribute pestilence. As with any large family, the chaos pretty much never stops; there are always divergent personalities bouncing off of each other, threatening to distract our heroes from their task. It never stops being fun to watch. Much of Hosoda's team from his earlier work, Girl Who Leapt Through Time, is reunited for Summer Wars. Character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto somehow manages to pull together a gigantic cast with wildly variant appearances, all of them somehow familiar types and yet resolutely original in appearance. His work here takes on a realism that reminded me of Hisashi Eguchi's work on Roujin Z. The visuals, created by MADHOUSE, are sharp and consistently great, but the real show-stopper is the world of OZ, a visually inventive blend of Superflat artistry with the never-ending expansiveness of the digital world. As Love Machine's strength builds, its collection of other avatars made me think of Katsuhiro Otomo's trademark gigantic piles of disaster, as seen in Akira and Roujin Z. And it's precisely that attitude about the digital world that makes Summer Wars so much more than an average blockbuster. Even in today's world, Hollywood computers are still a ridiculous blend of flashy and unrealistic interfaces and ominous power, betraying both computer illiteracy and technophobia on the part of its creators. Hosoda wisely maintains an actual, recognizable Windows-ish GUI on his computers, and keeps the real action in the symbolic visual fantasy world of OZ. But more than that, he doesn't condemn anybody for how much of their lives are lived online. OZ might be the wild west, but for the millions who choose to live in it, it's home, and the film respects that.Decades from now, Summer Wars will be seen as the official arrival of Mamoru Hosoda into the realm of historically important anime directors. It's a near-perfect blend of social satire and science fiction, at once timely and timeless, sardonic and optimistic. It's visually inspired and firmly entrenched in tradition, but on the other hand, it does for computer and math nerds what Miyazaki's Porco Rosso did for porcine fighter pilots, making their hidden world accessible to the viewers and turning their talents into superpowers. For that reason alone, it's a triumph. Lord knows there's a lot more nerds out there than flying pigs. Get some Kenji.

Anime : Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon 7-12 DVD

Ah, the DVD for part two. One day, Usagi Tsukino, clumsy 2nd-year middle school student (8th grader), stumbles upon a talking cat named Luna. Luna tells her that she is destined to be Sailor Moon, "champion of love and justice", and she must search for the fabled Moon Princess. Usagi finds friends that turn out to be destined senshi as well, and together they fight to save the world from the certain doom brought upon by the Dark Kingdom (Queen Beryl, the generals, Metallia).

Got to give thanks to Luna. Without the Neko the show just wouldn't be as fun. Annd my favorite sailor scout, Ami. Who is on the cover of DVD 2. From er nerdy booksmarts, to her useless bubble power,Ami will always be my favorite sailor scout.Mamoru was always cool. He is the guy that, well,I always wanted to be. To swoop down and save the girl. To always be there and easily have a way to get Usagi out of trouble. I love that stuff. The first couple of seasons Mamoru is Tuxedo Kamen then he jumps over to Tsukikage no Knight a.k.a. the Moonlight knight. I think remember the dub calling him the arabian knight or something like that. His character is definitely one of those strange ones that hides idly by until trouble arrives. I don't think they ever explain if he has a job or goes to school? He does have an apartment but logic seems to stop there. Especially when Chibi-Usa gets there, Mamoru seems to have money and spare time to take care of her.

Now, lets get something clear here. I know full well that Mamoru is the moon prince and that he doesn't live the same way as the rest of us would. I know it's suspension of belief but dammit, The memory loss thing never sat right with me. It's a cool idea to have the characters slowly find them selves again, but when the lose it again I drives me insane. Simple and complex at the same time. I love this show. YEAH Mercury, get with the Yuri program.

Anime : Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon 1-6 DVD

Sailor moon can usually be explained by any anime fan. Where they were when It came out, and what they were doing at the time. I'm an Otaku, So I was watching the show well before it wandered to America. That's not saying much though. I still like the show, but it has always been simplistic.

Main bad guy appears, sends some wacky plot device to foil the sailor scouts, sailor scouts always win, everyone tries again in the next episode. What I have always liked is that Usagi constantly falls in love with every badguy bishi that comes her way. The soft hand drawn backgrounds still feel great on the eyes. graphics aside, Sailor moon did decently in the US, despite being edited on arrival. The show is more like and American cartoon than an anime. It's episodic and builds a story path. When It did come to our shores, The intro song was destroyed, all the names were changed, voices were changed to make sure no one was confused by anyone's sexuality, and scenes altered to not only be time efficient for our air waves, but to make sure everyone knew that the main bad guys were a man and a woman. Not two guys. These first six episodes were great. Its a nice throwback to when times in anime were simple and somewhat clear.

Anime : To Aru Kagaku no Railgun 1-4

A Certain magical index came out in 2008 and really wowed the audience with it's HD format and pantsu droping loli "Index". I didn't give a shit about it when It came out. Though I did collect it and moved on. To find out that a side story named Railgun was coming out in 2009. Yeah I still didn't care.

It wasn't until I watched the first episode that I noticed To Aru. A teleporter?, An electro master? And they are in Eighth grade!! I still didn't care. But it grew on me. The first season didn't look interesting but the (leeches) people who stuck with the first season said that the characters in "Railgun" were the real stars of the show. So here we have the story that was supposed to be.

Kuroko Shirai is also super Yuri for Mikoto. That is when I took notice of the series. Kuroko isn't just hinting at being lez, she is full blown yuri too the extreme. She wants Mitoko in every possible way. Which is why this series has my attention now. I've also really fallen for Kuroko's seiyuu Satomi Arai. Her voice is heavenly. I now look forward to every episode.

Uiharu and Saten are like the two main characters on Namco X Capcom. Generic, powerless nobodies that make me sick. They are merely filler in between yuri shots of Mitoko and Kuroko. Heh, heh.

The Ryoko Case Files. It came and went without much fuss. I enjoyed it though. Based on a series of light novels written by Tanaka Yoshiki. The story revolves around Ryōko Yakushiji, a brilliant 27-year-old elite investigator with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police. Together with her subordinate Junichirō Izumida, the two often investigate bizzare and supernatural cases. In addition with the paranormal, Ryōko also has a longstanding rivalry with Yukiko Muromachi, another talented police investigator.

Anime : Violinist of Hamelin / The Movie

One of my newest throwbacks is Hamelin. The Violinist of Hamelin. The manga is something I'm currently going through right now. It's cliched and been done but I like it none the less.While on their quest to stop the Demon King, the violinist Hamel, the pianist Raiel, the magess Flute and the female warrior Sizer stop in a small kingdom and destroy a rampaging monster. While giving the four a heroes' welcome, the king and queen explain that their daughter has been kidnapped by a monster living in a nearby castle. They agree to go and rescue the hostage princess and defeat the monster. However, the enemy's castle is heavily guarded. Enix's SNES game is a blast to play. The abuse Flute goes through is really funny. She is one of the super cuties of the Otaku world.

Anime : Kemono no Souja Erin 1-39

Kemono no Souja Erin is a story about a little girl "Erin" who is the young 10 year old daughter of a beast trainer Soyon-san. She is an outsider in a village that takes care of the Grand Duke's military might, the toudas. Her mother, Soyon-san, is an outsider vet brought in to take care of the toudas. Erin-chan encounters many problems and learns many new things while aspiring to become a vet, like her mother, who cares for the all important toudas.

There is racism in the beginning and a mention of the people of the mist that makes me instantly think of Final Fantasy 4's Rydia. And Damn, I fear something bad is going to happen to Erin's mother making Erin venture off, or something of that tragic magnitude. Great story so far, it has a lot of RPG elements that have been made and displayed before, but that just makes it better to me really.

This pic here reminds me of Breath of Fire. I've only seen one out of thirty-nine episodes do far , so I can't really say much yet. It's one I'll be working on though.

Anime : Kyou no Go no Ni 1-13

Kyou no Go no Ni is a middle school series that is really fun to watch. Each episode goes through some goofy shit, like overcoming being awkward,shy,simple stupidity and embarrassment. We all went through it, but Class of 5-2 really captures some of the truly funny moments in life. Episode 7 was the infamous water gun showdown. These guys really have no chance. In my experience. Girls will always win no matter what. It's just the way it is.

Anime : Kowarekake no Orgol 1-2

Kowarekake no Orgol is a cool little video that came out in Comiket 75 about a teen who finds a robo ( much like Chi for Chobits) in the trash. The only difference ismhis is a Loli who gets to learn everything from a cliche male teenager. Yea.
Kowarekake no Orgol episode 2 is pretty much the only real episode and in this you still don't get much. The loli can't do anything right and learns through embarrassment like always. As the newest head of the prestigious Campbell household, young Cecily Campbell is following family tradition by becoming a Knight Guard of the Independent Trade City of Housman and taking up the family sword. She is still wet behind the ears as a warrior, though, so when she breaks her family sword trying to stop a crazed former knight she has to get saved by the dashing but standoffish swordsman Luke, who uses an amazing sword. Upon tracking down Luke later, Cecily discovers that he is a blacksmith and tries to convince him to make her a sword which will be her partner in her quest to protect the city from threats. A monster attack on a nearby caravan gives her a chance to prove her mettle and Luke (and elfin companion Lisa) a chance to show their true power: that of a Sacred Blacksmith.
based on a light novel series and produced by manglobe, The Sacred Blacksmith has so much of the look and feel of a classic RPG-based fantasy story that it is rather surprising that it is not directly adapted from a computer or console RPG. It does nothing bad but nothing particularly special, either, until the episode's final couple of minutes, when Luke and Lisa forge a new sword on the spot in the midst of a battle (as seen in the screenshot). That is a novel and interesting scene, and Cecily scores some points, too, for some dialog that is effectively earnest without being overly cheesy. A nicely cute closer and respectable technical merits (watch for some nice footwork in one scene) don't hurt, either.

In the fantasy land of Fiore, magic use is common and wizards generally do their business as part of Guilds. The Guild that Lucy, a Celestial Wizard (which means she uses keys to summon spirits to do her bidding, albeit ones that sometimes have a lot of ‘tude), dreams of joining is Fairy Tail, a Guild famous (some might say “notorious”) for its might and destructive power.
The character designs and overall artistic style, despite supposedly being toned down from the manga, parrots One Piece a little too much; yeah, the first episode is awash in common anime clichés. It is still a fun and energetic show, though, and that is enough to sell the first episode.

Instead she encounters a literal charmer who claims to be the Fairy Tail wizard Salamander and Natsu, a young man with horrendous motion sickness issues who travels with the cat-like Happy and just happens to turn out to be the real Salamander. Much mayhem ensues, and Lucy gets an invite to join the Guild for her part in it.

The process fails, and as a toll for using this type of alchemy, the older brother, Edward Elric loses his left leg while the younger brother, Alphonse Elric loses his entire body. To save his brother, Edward sacrifices his right arm and is able to affix his brother's soul to a suit of armor. With the help of a family friend, Edward receives metal limbs - "automail" - to replace his lost ones. With that, Edward vows to search for the Philosopher's Stone to return the brothers to their original bodies, even if it means becoming a "State Alchemist", one who uses his/her alchemy for the military.

Fray is a spin off of Xak for the PCE Super CD-ROM². The PCE Super CD-ROM² was a fantastic system that wasn't really well know the the mass as it was to the hardcore. Fray CD features a typical high fantasy setting. According to the game world's legends, a great war was fought between the benevolent but weakening ancient gods and a demon race, which led to the collapse and eventual mortality of the gods. After this 'War of Sealing', the gods divided the world into three parts: Xak, the world of humans, Oceanity, the world of faeries, and Zekisis, the world of demons. The demon world of Zekisis was tightly sealed from the other two worlds as to prevent reentry of the warmongering demon race. Some demons were left behind in Xak, however, and others managed to discover a separate means to enter Xak from Zekisis anyway. This ancient history is displayed in the introduction of Xak II. The story of Fray CD takes place between the events of Xak and during the events of Xak II. During Xak, Fray was not able to use magic and was more or less a helpless girl that was rescued by the hero of the Xak series, Latok Kart. After being rescued, Fray becomes romantically interested in Latok and decides that if she could become useful to Latok and aid him in his quests, perhaps Latok will be interested in her romantically in return. Starting from the very end of Xak, Fray goes attends a magical university for three years to learn how to become a full fledged sorceress. Upon her graduation Fray travels to Latok's home town of Fearless to find Latok. However, upon arriving Fray learns that Latok has decided to journey on ahead of her to the region of Banuwa to start a new quest (Xak II). Fray decides to not give up on finding Latok and decides to set out on an adventure all on her own as she heads for Banuwa village. The course of the game takes Fray to several places along the way including various villages, an ancient ruins, a lake, a the center of a volcano and a floating fortress.Fray CD is a classic Run and Gun Overhead Shooter, in that the game proceeds by the player fighting through a preset overhead view map shooting opposing monsters, jumping over obstacles, and locating powerups and Gold, the game's currency, along the way. At the end of each stage the player will fight a boss and enter a town or safe haven where the player can purchase new equipment, hit points and the option to save their progress. Fray advances in power through the items that she can equip such as different rods and shields. Combat is in real-time. The player's character walks around on automatic vertically scrolling game map as well as the monster characters. Fray has an attack and defense rating, and can switch between different projectile weapon styles as well as use special attacks and healing items. This combat/movement system requires some manual dexterity, as Fray must navigate and plan attack strategies against hordes of monster enemies and jump over and onto various platforms and obstacles.

Anime : Queen's Blade S2 1-4

Season two started just after the last battle where the girls all have to regroup. The Subs have already sounded better than season one's ridiculous porn dialogue. I forgive it though. I love the shit out of this series just from the simple fact that T and A is everywhere every five seconds. I couldn't be more pleased at how this series (made from ecchi and hentai illustrations) touned out. I've only seen the first four episodes, but it shaping up to be one of the best. Ecchi series that is. When reviewing material like this, you can't be serious about it. The people who made it and the people they made it for know it's all in good fun. Not serious.

I really like Bakemonogatari for it's artistic style. It's got a lot going for it right now. I have only seen three episodes up till now and I'm loving every minute of it. The main kid is a vampire, the main firl is a feather weight warrior it's real exciting to see where they can go with this. Doesn't seem like my people saw this though. I'm not sure what kind of budget they have but it has to be pretty out there. Each still and angle looks like a big budget art house film.

I really enjoy the Ranma feel to it so far. My favorite character is Akane : AKA. Aka means red if you didn't know. Every bit of dialogue she was givin, ends up being misunderstood and totally ends up sounding dirty as all hell. The main character is cool but th he/she thing is so old to me now that I don't usually pay attention. Meh.

Now that the Water7 and CP9 arc are over Luffy and crew have found themselves in the New World.The New world is great because the series creator Oda can make up any thing he wants.And where does he go? To the Halloween Theme.Hell's yeah.Thriller Bark has been pretty badass.Mugiwara's crew find a barrel floating in the middle of the ocean and decide to pick it up.Of course what happens? An explosion and dark skies to follow.The crew then see a Ghost ship appear next to the Thousand Sunny and they hear singing "Yohohohohoho",Yohohohohoho" Sounds stupid at first but It becomes addicting.Luffy jumps aboard and finds the source of the singing.It's a skeleton who has been stuk in the deep fog for about fifty years.Luffy invites him back to the thousand sunny.The skeleton's name is Brook and he ate the revival fruit back when he was alive,but when he died his soul couldn't find the body in time so that why he is "Dead Bones" running around.Funny.Luffy immediately wants Brook's as a nakama,but no can do.Brook's can't exist in the daylight for the time being because his shadow was stolen from one of the shibunkai.Gecko Moria to be exact.Luffy still wants brooks as a nakama.Suddenly there is a loud vibration and the pirates look outside.A gate resembling teeth had fallen over the thousand sunny and they are trapped.Through the thick for an Island appears and all hell breaks loose.The crew have found themselves trapped at Thriller Bark and are in for a whole new adventure.

Why? What use is that? Why do we have such a need for these things? It seriously has become a incarnation of evil.I don't personally believe in such things but it really is pure evil.

I frequent the anime news network forums all the time and I have come to the conclusion that I am a complete and total outcast.That's right! I share absoulutley nothing in common with these people.People that I would think I'd call nakama.Nothing.I do try but it sickens me.I realize that I am a hardcore otaku American-Japanese definition not American-American definition.I've been doing this everyday since birth.I enjoy nothing else.I was born in the eighties,grew up during the ninties and simply aged during the 2000's.So what does that make me?What the Fuck is going to become of me in 2010? In 20XX? Hmmmm?

- Sometime in the 1990's... Metro City, a well known Crime Capital, has been ruled by violence and death for many years. Mad Gear controls all of the major criminal activity in the city. When they learned of Haggar's plans, they took immediate action to bring this new mayor under their control.

Jessica, the daughter of the city Mayor Mike Haggar has been kidnapped by the evil 'Mad Gear' gang. Set in the fictional Metro City, Haggar rounds up two of his closest friends, Guy and Cody, and sets out to battle Mad Gear's gang members and ultimately rescue his daughter.

1 or 2 players choose to play as either Guy, Cody or Haggar in this superb, sideways scrolling beat-em-up. As well as the standard punch and kick moves, each character also has a special attack. This move is powerful enough to fell several enemies at once, but with the trade-off that each time a special attack is executed, some of the player's energy is lost. Energy levels can be replenished by finding the food that lies hidden in certain crates and barrels. Some of the Mad Gear gang members will drop a weapon when they are felled. These weapons can then be picked up and used by the players.

After the benchmark-setting "Double Dragon", released by Technos in 1987, Final Fight would become the standard-bearer of the scrolling beat-em-up genre. Featuring a large variety of distinctive, well animated characters moving through colorful and detailed backgrounds, and with a control system that is as intuitive as it is complex, Final Fight is still considered to be the finest example of its kind.The first time I saw this game was at a north Las Vegas 7-11.People came from all over to play the new game.The game was incredible and is still held as one of the best today.

One of the funiest things that carried over into the super popular Street Fighter 2 was the car mini game.You are givin 30 seconds to obliterate this car.

This game was originally billed as the sequel to "Street Fighter" and was to be called "Street Fighter '89". While the game had become a major hit in its own right, Capcom decided to change the name to "Final Fight" and save the "Street Fighter" name for another game, 2 years later.

Guy's name is written with the kanji meaning 'victory song'. The character of Guy has been allegedly inspired by the lead singer of the post hardcore group Fugazi, Guy Picciotto.

The enemy character, Andore, and all of his relatives (Andore Jr., Uncle Andore, Father Andore and Grandfather Andore) are Capcom's homage to the now late WWF Champion, Andre Rene Roussimoff, aka 'Andre the Giant'.

2 other Mad Gear characters, Axl and Slash, are parodies of the lead singer and guitarist respectively from American rock band, 'Guns 'N' Roses'.

Poison is taken from the glam rock group of eighties, in which the singer used to wear a similar hat to the female character in the game. The character Poison is actually a male transvestite and so is Roxy (although a translation error in the Capcom Classics Collection character profiles refers to Roxy as a female).

Abigail is a King Diamond album, whose singer (King Diamond) resembles the character in the game.

Abigail's level shown to the left is one of my all time favorites,not only for the badass soundtrack but the sprite detail in the background.

Sodom is a famous German thrash metal band founded in the eighties.

The enemy character 'Two P' appears in "Forgotten Worlds" as the second player ('Two P' for 2P, 'Player 2').
